15 Free high quality Magento themes to download

free-magento-themes

Since the popularity of Magento is still increasing, the number of available themes is getting at a level where there’s really something to choose from. Also, well-known templating companies like Woothemes and Joomlart started delivering premium, paid templates to their customers. However, let’s have a look at what’s available for free. Is the quality of those themes really lower? We made some suggestions here and would love to hear your feedback on these themes.

Magik Clothes

Magentomagik.com is a company developing premium, paid Magento themes and extensions. But some of their themes are available for free. Like this Magik Clothes theme, but please note that you must create an account on this website to be able to download it.

Hello Magento

From the developers of HelloThemes we can download this pretty, free Magento template. Registration is required however. Nice one: being delivered in three different colours, that’s something we do not see too often for a free theme.

Sigyn

A Free template from the team of Smashing Magazine is generally an assurance for good quality. However, this theme is already over a year old. I’m not sure if it will still be able to work with the current Magento version.

We don’t see it too often, that the folks from Templatemonster are giving away themes, but there are more free Magento templates available from their website. However, Template Monster states that these free templates are for educational purposes only. You may not use them on a live ecommerce website.

Next time, we’ll discuss a selection of premium themes in here. What is your opinion, are these free themes worth giving a try? Or should you always use a premium theme at least, to be able to receive some kind of support? Or is using a standard theme something you shouldn’t consider at all? We’d love to hear from  you below. But remember, all of these questions will be covered during our upcoming articles, here at boostingecommerce.com. So don’t forget to sign up for our rss feed for free updates!

  1. I think the free theme is enough for me! They are really pro already. But there is some kind of inconvinece when I want to make some changes. Can you tell? Thanks

    • Hi Erica,
Thanks for your feedback. What do you mean exactly with ‘inconvenience’? Changing Magento templates is something not manageable for end-users or beginners. You need to hire somebody that is experienced in this field.
